SolSource Sport Raises More Than 600% of Initial Goal, Now on Indiegogo InDemand
Date: June 26, 2017
SolSource Sport soared past its initial goal in four hours on Kickstarter, raising more in its first few days than many projects raise in total. This successful Kickstarter campaign raised more than $150k from over 600 backers across the world in just thirty days. Due to its success, SolSource Sport is now running as an InDemand item on Indiegogo so, you still have a chance to get great deals on SolSource Sport until the company begins direct sales.
The Sport model is the latest addition to One Earth Designs’ line of clean energy solar stoves, powered by patented solar technology that harnesses 92% of the sun’s rays. SolSource Sport packs more solar power per square foot than any other device. It fits into a 2-foot basic carrying case, weighs only 4.5 kilograms (10 pounds), and cooks a meal in just 10 minutes. It also heats up 5 times faster than a charcoal grill.
“We are launching our innovative SolSource Sport model in response to the demand for a more portable solar-powered grill,” said Dr. Catlin Powers, co-founder and CEO of One Earth Designs. “SolSource Sport is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who need to travel light and for families who want to cook with the sun in small places or on-the-go.”
Since launching on Kickstarter, SolSource Sport has received media attention from across the world in multiple languages. Backers of SolSource Sport have come from diverse places – sunny US states and Australia, eco-conscious Europe and technology-oriented Singapore and Japan. “As an InDemand item on Indiegogo, we hope more people will take advantage of the substantial discount by pre-ordering their SolSource Sport on this innovative platform.” says Dr Hin-Yan Wong, CMO of One Earth Designs.
SolSource Sport is not just aimed at the outdoors industry. It’s portability and compactness could play a critical role in alleviating fuel poverty and indoor pollution, which kills more people every year than AIDS and Malaria combined according to the World Health Organization. “Many mountain climbers and low-income rural people have died from exposure to cooking smoke in their tents and homes. SolSource Sport could put an end to this.” said Conrad Anker, Expedition Lead of The North Face. One Earth Designs began in the Himalayas and continues to bring clean energy products to developing regions around the world.
